What you give us

Photographs. When you submit a pumpkin we store a resized copy of the photo. We do not keep the original file, and re-saving the image removes camera metadata such as location.
Submission details. Title, who the pumpkin resembles, category, and optional caption.
Display name. Shown publicly next to an approved pumpkin. You can use a nickname or leave it blank to appear as Anonymous.
Email address (optional). Never shown publicly. Used only to contact you about your submission.
Contact messages. If you use the contact form we store your name, email and message, and a copy may be emailed to the site owner so it can be answered.

What is displayed publicly

Once approved, your photograph, title, caption, the person it resembles, your display name, and the submission date appear on the website and may be shared by visitors through links or social media. Pending and rejected submissions are not public.

Technical information

To limit spam we store a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address with submissions, contact messages and rate-limit records. We cannot turn that back into your IP address. Rate-limit records are deleted automatically after two days. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, may also keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operations.

Cookies and third parties

Browsing the site sets no cookies. A single session cookie is set only when you open a form or the administrator signs in; it is used for form security and is removed when you close your browser. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking services. If you use the share buttons, the site you share to will apply its own privacy practices.

Keeping and removing information

We keep approved submissions while the site is running. Rejected submissions may be deleted at any time. Contact messages are kept until handled and then deleted on request or in routine cleanups. Copies may persist in hosting backups for a limited time. To have a submission or your details removed, contact us and include the link to the pumpkin.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. If you are a parent who believes a child has submitted information, contact us and we will remove it.
